Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about splitting an image into a grid.
How do I split an image into a grid?
Upload an image, choose a preset or a number of rows and columns (1 to 10 each), check the cut lines on the preview, then split it. Download each tile on its own, or all of them in one ZIP file.
How do I use it as a grid maker for Instagram?
Choose the Instagram grid preset (3 × 3): the image is cut into nine tiles numbered 01 to 09 in reading order. Your newest post appears top left on your profile, so post tile 09 first and tile 01 last to rebuild the picture.
Can I split a panorama into a carousel?
Yes. The carousel preset (1 × 3) cuts the image into three slides side by side; post them in order, from 01 to 03, in one carousel post. For a longer panorama, choose up to 10 columns.
Are all the tiles the same size?
Yes, to the pixel: when the width or height does not divide evenly, tiles differ by one pixel at most. Together they hold every pixel of the image, without overlap, and the tool shows their size before you split.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is split with a canvas in your browser: it is not uploaded to our server, and the ZIP file is also built in your browser.
Which formats are supported?
You can split JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and GIF images up to 10 MB. Tiles are saved as PNG, without loss, or as JPEG or WebP with a quality setting; transparent areas become white in JPEG.
