Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about adding a border and rounded corners to an image.
How do I add a border to an image?
Upload the image, set the border width, pick its color, then download the result. The live preview shows the border to scale, and the size of the result is shown below it.
Can I set the border width in pixels or percent?
Yes. Choose from 0 to 1,000 pixels, added on each side, or from 0 to 25% of the image’s shorter side, which gives photos of different sizes borders of the same proportion.
How do I round the corners of an image?
Move the Rounded corners slider. The radius is a percentage of the shorter side of the result: 0% keeps square corners and 50% rounds the short sides completely, so a square image becomes a circle. With a border width of 0, the corners of the image itself are rounded.
Are the rounded corners transparent?
In PNG, WebP, AVIF and TIFF, the area outside the corners is transparent. JPEG has no transparency, so that area is filled with a color you choose, white by default. GIF keeps transparency, but its curved edges look jagged.
Which formats and file sizes are supported?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF and GIF images up to 10 MB; an animated GIF keeps only its first frame. The result keeps the original format unless you choose another one, and can be up to 40 megapixels with its border.
Are my images stored?
No. The image is sent to our server, processed in memory for this request and returned to your browser; the tool does not save it. No account is needed.
