How do I crop an image into a circle?
Upload the image, drag the circle over the part to keep and resize it with its handles. The preview shows the round result; then download it as a PNG with a transparent background.
Is the background outside the circle transparent?
Yes, by default: the result is a square PNG in which everything outside the circle is transparent. WebP and AVIF keep the transparency too. JPEG has no transparency, so the outside of the circle is filled with a color you choose, white by default.
Can I use it for a profile picture?
Yes. Many social networks and messaging apps show profile pictures in a circle; cropping the photo yourself lets you choose exactly what stays visible. The round PNG also works in slides, email signatures and web pages.
What size is the cropped image?
A square whose side is the circle’s diameter, in pixels of the original image, as shown under the preview. The tool does not enlarge or shrink the image, so a larger circle gives a sharper picture.
Which formats and file sizes are supported?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF and GIF images up to 10 MB; an animated GIF keeps only its first frame. Photos taken with a phone are cropped as you see them, with their orientation applied.
Are my images stored?
No. The image is sent to our server, cropped in memory for this request and returned to your browser; the tool does not save it. No account is needed.
